Peach, Doherty Advance to November Ballot

The current county commissioner and the former county commissioner will face off in November’s general election.

That after last night’s primary results in which Incumbent Republican Clallam County Commissioner Bill Peach and Democrat Mike Doherty Jr. were the top vote-getters in district three.  Under Washington’s two-off primary system the two top finishers advance in the general election ballot.

Doherty won the most votes with 48%, Peach finished with 45%, while Dale Wilson – running with no party affiliation –  had 7% and will not advance.

Peach  is seeking his second term as West End-Port Angeles-area commissioner.

Doherty is a former four-term county commissioner who did not seek re-election to the four-year seat in 2014.
