Most Incumbents File For Re-Election on First Day

Candidate filing week is underway and already many incumbents are officially seeking re-election.  Congressman Derek Kilmer is seeking a fourth term as the US Representative of the 6th district.  Steve Tharinger and Mike Chapman each filed for their current legislative seats in the 24th district.


In Clallam County, Republican Bill Peach is running for a second term as the Forks-area County commissioner. And Republican Mark Nichols is running for re-election as county prosecuting attorney.

Also filing in non-partisan position are incumbents Sherriff Bill Benedict, Auditor Shoona Riggs, and assessor Pamela Rushton.  Department of community development director Mary Ellen Winborn also filing for re-election as did a challenger Julie Gardiner.
