South Sound 911 Releases Calls in Amtrak Crash

We are getting a first listen of the 911 calls from victims in the Amtrak train derailment south of Seattle last week. Dozens of emergency recordings released by South Sound 911 Dispatch detail vivid accounts of what happened during the deadly crash on December 18th.

Kilmer Opposes CR – Wants Bi-Partisan deal

Congressman Derek Kilmer is reacting to the [passage of the continuing resolution to keep the government running until January.  The 6th district Democrat voted against the resolution – saying he is disappointed no agreement was reached on a long term bi-partisan spending bill.

DOT Removes Locomotive From I-5

Crews have removed an Amtrak train in Dupont Washington from the deadly derailment on Monday. At least three people were killed when the train took a 30 miles per hour at 80 miles per hour and plunged off an overpass.

Also, the Clallam County EDC Board is increasing from 15 to 17.  They want women on their all-male board – and some representation from the West End.  It currently has none.

NW Tribes Face Threats from Expanding Oil and Gas Projects

Northwest tribes oppose the Trans Mountain Pipeline expansion, which could increase oil tanker traffic in the Strait of Juan de Fuca sevenfold.

Also, Clallam County names an acting treasurer, snow downs trees on hwy 112, and Gov Inslee says it’s too early to determine cause in Monday’s Amtrak derailment that killed 3.
